The 2014 International Theology of the Body Congress will once again be the most expansive gathering of experts and popularists in the history of this extraordinary teaching. Held in Philadelphia July 9 – 11, 2014 and hosted by the Theology of the Body Institute, the world’s leading experts and members of the Church hierarchy will gather to teach and network with educators, activists and devotees to apply this teaching to many facets of the Catholic Faith and everyday life.
With renewed passion and zeal for the New Evangelization, the Theology of the Body Institute has chosen the 2014 Congress theme “Love, Mercy and the New Evangelization” to focus on the important pastoral work of leading all men and women to Christ. As the men and women of our time continue to seek the joy and peace that only the Lord can give, we feel called to the mission of revealing that Face that beams Love and Mercy. This encounter with Christ is the very mission of the New Evangelization. This encounter is the mission of the Theology of the Body Institute.
It is and was the program of Blessed John Paul II: “To contemplate the face of Christ, and to contemplate it with Mary, is the “program” which I have set before the Church at the dawn of the third millennium, summoning her to put out into the deep on the sea of history with the enthusiasm of the new evangelization. Join us in this journey, as we gaze ever deeper into the Face of the Lord, shining on the face of brothers and sisters around us.” (John Paul II, NMI, 43). It shines through the theology of our bodies, called to be the reflection His love and mercy in the world today.
Because the Theology of the Body is rooted in the Catholic sacramental worldview, it is destined to affect all aspects of faith and life—from worship, to how we conduct business, to how we experience leisure, to how we live out our creation as male and female. It is for these reasons that we have been compelled to gather some of the most renowned teachers of the Catholic faith and Theology of the Body. Please join us and Register Today for the 2014 International Theology of the Body Congress.
